Turmeric is an ancient spice often credited for helping with inflammation, digestion, brain boost as well as having numerous other health benefits. If you're like me, it takes a bit to get used to the vibrant flavor of turmeric. I enjoy drinking it in tea - the sweetness and added flavors help tone down this bold spice.
1 cup almond milk
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
a small piece of fresh peeled ginger (or more if you want a strong taste)
1 tsp coconut oil
pinch of black pepper (helps your body absorb the turmeric)
Heat ingredients on stove for 5 minutes. If you want a frothy texture, add the mixture to Vitamix/blender along with the coconut oil. Blend for 1-2 minutes. Pour into mug and enjoy!
